AN ACT TO AMEND THE MEDICAL WANTS ORDINANCE

|
BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows : "
|

Short title,
|
1. This Act may be cited as the Medical Wants (Amendment) Act, No. 33 of 1990.
|
|
Amendment of section 10 of Chapter 226.
|
2. Section 10 of the Medical Wants Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as the " principal enactment") is hereby amended by the repeal of paragraph (b) thereof.
|
|
Amendment of section 14 of the principal enactment.
|
3. Section 14 of the principal enactment is hereby amended by the repeal of paragraph (b) of that section and the substitution of the following paragraph therefor: "
|
" (b) under section 10, in respect of a visit to an estate for the purpose of attendance on any sick laborer or laborers,".

Amendment of section 30 of the principal enactment.
|
4. Section 30 of the principal enactment is hereby amended by the repeal of paragraphs (b), (c) and (4) of that section.

|
Amendment of section 31 of the principal enactment,
|
5. Section 31 of the principal enactment is hereby amended in paragraph (b) of that section, by the omission of the words or maintenance .
|
|
Sinhala text to Prevail in case of inconsistency.
|
6. In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala and Tamil texts of this Act, the Sinhala text shall Prevail.
