AN ACT TO AMEND THE MOTOR TRAFFIC ACT

BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows:"

Short title,
|
1. This Act may be cited as the Motor Traffic (Amendment) Act, No. 8 of 1990.
|
|
Amendment of section 7 of Chapter 203.
|
2. Section 7 of the Motor Traffic Act, (hereinafter referred to as the " principal enactment") is hereby amended in subsection (4) of that section by the substitution, for the words " a hire purchase agreement", of the words " a hire purchase or leasing agreement".

|
Amendment of section 9 of the principal enactment.
|
3. Section 9 of the principal enactment is hereby amended in subsection (5) of that section by the substitution, for the words a hire purchase agreement ", of the words a hire purchase or leasing agreement".

|
Amendment of section 13 of the principal enactment.
|
4. Section 13 of the principal enactment is hereby amended in subsection (2) of that section by the substitution, for the words " a hire purchase agreement", words " a hire purchase or leasing agreement".

Amendment of section 14 of the principal enactment.
|
5. Section 14 of the principal enactment is hereby amended in subsection (4) of that section by the substitution, for the words " a hire purchase agreement", of the words, " a hire purchase or leasing agreement".

|
Sinhala text to prevail in case of inconsistency.
|
6. In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala and Tamil texts of this Act, the Sinhala text shall prevail.
