BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows :-

1.This Act may be cited as the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (Amendment) Act, No. 22 of

2. Section 6 of the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration Act, No. 9 of 1982 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal enactment") is hereby amended in subsection (1) of that section as follows :-

(1) in paragraph (c) of that subsection, by the substitution, for the words "subject of Finance and Planning", of the words "subject of Home Affairs" ;

(2) in paragraph (d) of that subsection, by the substitution, for the words "subject of Plan Implementation", of the words "subject of Finance";

(3) in paragraph (e) of that subsection, by the substitution, for the words "subject of Higher Education", of the words "subject of Planning" ;

(4) in paragraph if) of that subsection, by the substitution, for the words "subject of Home Affairs", of the words "subject of Higher Education" ; and

(5) by the repeal of paragraphs (g) and (h) of that subsection, and the substitution of the following paragraphs, therefor- "(g) the person for the time being holding office as Secretary to the Ministry of the Minister in charge of the subject of Provincial Councils ; (h) two persons who, in the opinion of the Minister have distinguished themselves in management in the private sector ; (i) two persons who are , or have been ,holding important positions in management in the public sector ; (j) the person for the time being holding office as the Director of the institute who shall also function as convenor the Council :

Provided however two or more subjects specified in paragraphs (a) to (g) of this subsection are assigned to the Minister , the Minister may appoint , in addition to the secretary to the Ministry of the first mentioned Minister , the Additional Secretary in charge of the relevant subject to be a member of the Council.".

3. Section 7 of the principal enactment is hereby amended in subsection (3) of that section , by the substitution , for the words and figures "paragraph (g) of section" ; of the words and figures "paragraph (h) or paragraph (i) of section 6".

4. In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala and Tamil texts of this Act, the Sinhala text shall prevail.
