AN ACT TO AMEND THE CODE OF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE ACT, No. 15 OF 1979

BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows :
|

Short title,
|
1.This Act may be cited as the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Act, No. 13 of 1988.
|
|
Amendment of section 333 of Act No. 15 of 1979.
|
2.Subsection (4) of section 333 of the Code of Criminal Procedure Act, No. 15 of 1979, is hereby repealed and the following subsection substituted therefor:
|
” (4) Where the accused is sentenced to death, execution shall be stayed and he shall, pending the determination of the appeal, be treated in such manner as may be prescribed by rules made under the Prisons Ordinance.”.
