College of General Practitioners of Sri Lanka(Incorporation)(Amendment) AN ACT TO AMEND THE COLLEGE OF GENERAL PRACTITIONERS OF SRI LANKA (INCORPORATION) LAW, NO, 28 OF 1974, BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows : Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as the College of General Practitioners of Sri Lanka (Incorporation) (Amendment) Act, No, 51 of 1980, Amendment of section 3 of Law No.26 of 1974. 2.Section 3 of the College of General Practitioners of Sri Lanka (Incorporation) Law, No, 26 of 1974, is hereby amended as follows: (1) by the relettering of paragraphs (e) and (f) of that section as paragraphs (g) and (h) respectively; (2) by the insertion, immediately after paragraph (d) of that section, of the following new paragraphs :- “(e) to establish, maintain, manage and administer any institution for the purpose of providing or promoting courses of study and facilities for the education, instruction and training of medical practitioners, students preparing to qualify as medical practitioners, or persons employed or qualifying to be employed as ancillary personnel in hospitals, dispensaries, clinics, laboratories or similar institutions which have been established to assist medical practitioners in providing medical, surgical and health services ; (f) to construct, equip and maintain libraries and other buildings for the administrative, instructional, residential or any other purposes of the Corporation:”; (3) in the relettered paragraph (g) of that section, by the substitution for the words ” the Corporation is established ; and ” of the words ” the Corporation is established ; n ; (4) in the relettered paragraph (h) of that section, by the substitution for the words “general medical practice:”, of the words” general medical practice ; and ” ; and (5) by the addition immediately after the relettered paragraph (h) of that section, of the following new paragraph: – ” (i) to do all such other acts and things as may be necessary for or conducive to the attainment and promotion of the objects of the Corporation: “.
