AN ACT TO ENABLE THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF COLOMBO
TO MAKE AND ASSESS, IN RESPECT OF WARD NO. 31
(KIRILLAPONE) OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF COLOMBO, ANY RATE OR RATES DIFFERING FROM THE RATE OR RATES . MADE AND ASSESSED IN RESPECT OF ANY OTHER AREA WITHIN THAT MUNICIPALITY.

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the Colombo Municipal Council (Differential Rates) Act.

Rates in respect of Ward No. 31 (Kirillapone) of the Municipality of Colombo.

2. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any written law, the Municipal Council of Colombo may, in respect of Ward No. 31 (Kirillapone) of the Municipality of Colombo, make and assess under section 230 of the Municipal Councils Ordinance, with effect from the 1st day of January, 1951, any rate or rates differing from the rate or rates made and assessed under that section in respect of any other area within that Municipality.
