CROWN AGENTS (CHANGE OF DESIGNATION)
AN ACT TO MAKE SUCH AMENDMENTS IN WRITTEN LAW AND SUCH PROVISIONS AS ARE CONSEQUENTIAL TO THE CHANGE OF DESIGNATION OF THE CROWN AGENTS FOR THE COLONIES.

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the Crown Agents (Change of Designation) Act.

Amendments in written law and documents consequential to the change of designation of the Crown Agents for the Colonies

2. Wherever in any provision of any written law, or of any notice, communication, form, or other document issued, made, required or authorized by or under any written law, the expression ” Crown Agents for the Colonies ” occurs, there shall be substituted, for that expression, the expression ” Crown Agents for Oversea Governments and Administrations”, and accordingly wherever in any such provision the abbreviation ” Crown Agents ” is used to denote the Crown Agents for the Colonies, such abbreviation shall he read and construed as a reference to the Crown Agents for Oversea Governments and Administrations.

Savings for contracts.

3. Every contract made prior to the date of commencement of this Act between the Government of Ceylon and the Crown Agents for the Colonies shall be deemed on and after that date to be and to have been made between the Government of Ceylon and the Crown Agents for Oversea Governments and Administrations-

Retrospective effect of this Act.

4. This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April, 1954.
