Firing Ranges And Military Training (Amendment)


AN ACT TO AMEND THE FIRING RANGES AND MILITARY
TRAINING ACT.

BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows :-
Short title.
1.This Act may be cited as the Firing Ranges and
Military Training (Amendment) Act, No. 20 of 1979.
Amendment of section 3 of Chapter 363.
2. Section 3 of the Firing Ranges and Military Training
Act is hereby amended by the repeal of subsection (2)
of that section and the substitution therefor of the following
new subsection :

” (2)

(a) Any naval, military or air force of any country other than Sri Lanka may, with the prior written sanction of the Minister, use any firing range for such firing practice, during such period, and subject to such conditions, as may be specified by the Minister.

(b) Any member of the Sri Lanka Police Force or of a rifle association in Sri Lanka may, with the prior written sanction of the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, use any firing range for such firing practice, during such period, and subject to such conditions, as may be specified by such Secretary.”.
