Housing And Town Improvement (Amendment) AN ACT TO AMEND THE HOUSING AND TOWN IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows:- Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as the Housing and Town Improvement (Amendment) Act, No. 39 of 1979. Amendment of Schedule to Chapter 268. 2. The Schedule to the Housing and Town Improvement Ordinance is hereby amended in rule 1 thereof, by the substitution, for all the words and figures from ” where a building ” to ” from the building in question: “, of the following :- ” where a building (not being a place of religious worship) is situated upon a street, no portion of the front of the building shall intersect any of a series of imaginary lines drawn across the street at an angle of 631/2 with the plane of the lowest floor of the building, such lines being drawn from the street alignment on the side of the street which is the more remote from the building in question: “.
