Inland Revenue (Change Of Designations Of Certain Officers) Law


A LAW TO CHANGE THE DESIGNATIONS OF THE COMMISSIONER OF INLAND REVENUE, THE DEPUTY COMMISSIONERS OF INLAND REVENUE AND THE . ASSISTANT COMMISSIONERS OF INLAND REVENUE.

BE it enacted by the National State Assembly of the Republic of Sri Lanka as follows:
Short title and date of operation.
1. This Law may be cited as the Inland Revenue (Change of Designations of Certain .Officers) Law, No. 19 of 1975, and shall be deemed, for all purposes, to have come into operation on the first day of August, 1974 (hereinafter referred to as the… ” appointed date “).
Change of designations of Commissioner of Inland Revenue. Deputy Commissioner of Inland Revenue, and Assistant Commissioner of Inland Revenue.
2. With effect from the appointed date, in every context in, which mention is made in any written law -or in any notice, communication, form or other document issued, made, required or authorized ‘by or under any written law, of-

(a) the Commissioner of Inland. Revenue (whether by that designation or by the abbreviated designation of Commissioner) there shall be substituted for the words ” Commissioner of Inland “Revenue “, the words ” Commissioner–General of Inland Revenue and for the word Commissioner “, the word ” Commissioner-General “;
(b) a Deputy Commissioner of Inland Revenue (whether by that designation or by the abbreviated- designation of Deputy Commissioner) there shall be substituted for the words Deputy Commissioner of Inland -Revenue the words Commissioner of Inland Revenue ” and for the words “‘Deputy Commissioner”, the. word ” Commissioner “; and
(c) an Assistant Commissioner of Inland Revenue (whether by that designation or by the abbreviated designation of Assistant Commissioner) there shall be substituted for the words ” Assistant Commissioner of Inland Revenue “, the words Deputy Commissioner of Inland Revenue ” and for the words “Assistant Commissioner-“, the words Deputy Commissioner “.
