AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE RAISING OF LOANS IN OR OUTSIDE CEYLON FOR THE SERVICE OF THE GOVERNMENT DURING THE PERIOD COMMENCING ON OCTOBER 1, 1971, AND ENDING ON DECEMBER 31, 1971, AND THE PAYMENT FROM SUCH LOANS OF MONEYS REQUIRED DURING THAT PERIOD FOR EXPENDITURE ON SUCH SERVICE.

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives of Ceylon in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: –

Short title.
|
1. This Act may be cited as the Loans (Special Provisions) Act, No. 39 of 1971.
|
|
Authority for raising loans or the service of the Government during the period commencing on October 1, 1971, and ending on December 31, 1971.
|
2. Without prejudice to any other law authorizing any expenditure, the expenditure of the Government for the period commencing on October 1, 1971, and ending on December 31, 1971, shall be met from the proceeds of loans which are hereby authorized to be raised whether in or outside Ceylon for and on behalf of the Government so however that the aggregate of such proceeds does not exceed one hundred and thirty-five million rupees.
