Local Government Service Pensions (Special Provisions) (Amendment) AN ACT TO AMEND THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE PENSIONS (SPECIAL PROVISIONS) ACT, NO. 59 OF 1961. BE It enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and the House of Representatives of Ceylon in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as the Local Government Service Pensions (Special Provisions) (Amendment) Act, No. 8 of 1969. Amendment of section 4 of Act No. 59 of 1961. 2. Section 4 of the Local Government Service Pensions (Special Provisions) Act, No. 59 of 1961, hereinafter referred to as the ” principal Act “), is hereby amended as follows: – (1) by the substitution, for the expression ” provisions of section 58 of the Local Government Service Ordinance “, of the expression ” provisions of section 57 of the Local Government Service Ordinance to members of the service who have retired in accordance with the provisions of section 56 of that Ordinance and the pensions which are granted under the provisions of section 58 of that Ordinance “; and (2) in the marginal note to that section, by the substitution, for the expression ” under section 58 “, of the expression ” under sections 57 and 58 “. Amendment of section 5 of the principal Act. 3. Section 5 of the principal Act is hereby amended as follows: (1) by the substitution, for the expression ” provisions of section 58 “, of the expression ” provisions of section 57 or 58, as the case may be, “; and (2) in the marginal note to that section, by the substitution, for the expression ” under section 58 “, of the expression ” under section 57 or 58 “.
