Penal Code (Amendment) AN ACT TO AMEND THE PENAL CODE. BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows : Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as the Penal Code (Amendment) Act, No. 50 of 1980. Amendment of section 53 of Chapter 19. 2. Section 53 of the Penal Code is hereby amended as follows: – (a) by the substitution for the words ” under the age of sixteen years ;”, of the words ” under the age of eighteen years ;” ; and (b) in the marginal note thereto, by the substitution for the words “under sixteen years age” of the words ” under eighteen years of age.”
