AN ACT TO AMEND THE PUBLIC SERVICE MUTUAL PROVIDENT ASSOCIATION ORDINANCE

|
BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows :-
|

Short title
|
1. This Act may be cited as the Public Service Mutual Provident Association (Amendment) Act, No. 9 of 1986.
|
|
Amendment of section 4 of Chapter 283.
|
2. Section 4 of the Public Service Mutual Provident Association ordinance (hereinafter referred to as the principal enactment), as last amended by Act No. 18 of 1983, is hereby further amended as follows :-
|
(i) by the remembering of subsection (3) of that section as subsection (4) ; and
|
|
(ii) by the insertion, immediately after subsection (2) of that section, of the following new subsection :-
|
(3) Such nominated members shall receive such remuneration from the funds of the Corporation as the Secretary to the Treasury may from time to time direct :
|
|
Provided that such remuneration shall not exceed the sum of one hundred rupees each per month or proportionately for any part of a month.
|

|
Amendment of section 6 of the principal enactment.
|
3. Section 6 of the principal enactment, as last amended by law No. 2 of 1978, is hereby further amended by the substitution, for the proviso to subsection (2) of that section, of the following new proviso :-
|
|
Provided that such remuneration shall not exceed the sum of seven hundred an fifty rupees per month or proportionately for any part of a month.
