AN ACT TO AMEND THE PUBLIC TRUSTEE ORDINANCE.

BE it enacted by the parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows:-
|

Short title.
|
1. This Act may be cited as the Public Trustee (Amendment) Act.
|
|
Amendment of Section 5 of chapter 88.
|
2. Section 5 of the Public Trustee Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as the “principal enactment”), is hereby amended in subsection (1) of that section, by the insertion immediately after paragraph (e) thereof, of the following paragraph:”

(ee) as manager of immovable property upon a contract on terms and conditions including fees as may be mutually agreed upon;”.

Amendment of Section 45 of the principal enactment.
|
3.Section 45 of the principal enactment is hereby amended by the addition immediately after subsection (5) of that section, of the following subsection:”
|
(6) The preceding provisions of this section shall not apply in a case where the Public Trustee is appointed manager of immovable property under paragraph (ee) of section 5. “.
