Rubber Research (Amendment) Law


A LAW TO AMEND THE RUBBER RESEARCH ORDINANCE.

BE it enacted by the National State Assembly of the Republic of Sri Lanka .as follows: –
Short title.
1. This Law may be cited as the Rubber Research (Amendment) Law, No. 35 of 1976.
Amendment of section 6 of Chapter 439.
2, Section 6 of the Rubber Research Ordinance is hereby amended in subsection (1) thereof by the substitution, for paragraph (a) of that subsection, of the following paragraph: –

” (a) In order to provide an annual income for the Board there shall be charged, levied and paid on all rubber exported from Sri Lanka an export duty of four decimal four cents on every kilogramme of rubber exported from Sri Lanka, and the proceeds thereof shall be paid over monthly to the Board by the Principal Collector of Customs, no part thereof being credited to the Consolidated Fund:
Provided that no duty shall be charged or levied at the time of export on any rubber which is proved to the satisfaction of the Principal Collector of Customs to have been imported or brought into Sri Lanka for the purpose of re-export “.
