AN ACT TO AMEND THE SPECIAL PRESIDENTIAL COMMISSIONS OF INQUIRY LAW, No.7 OF 1978

BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows:-
|

Short title.
|
1. This Act may be cited as the Special Presidential Commissions of Inquiry (Amendment) Act, No. 38 of 1978.
|
|
Amendment of section 9 of Law No.7 of 1978.
|
2. Section 9 of the Special Presidential Commissions of Inquiry Law, No.7 of 1978, is hereby amended in subsection (1) of that section, by the substitution, for the words “administration of justice, the Commission shall “, of the following: –

” administration of justice or that any person has in any manner overawed, influenced or coerced, or prepared, conspired or attempted, to overawe, influence or coerce, any person with the intention of inducing or compelling the Government of Sri Lanka, the President or a Member of Parliament to exercise, or to refrain from exercising, in any manner, the lawful powers of the Government of Sri Lanka, the President or such Member of Parliament, the Commission shall “.
