AN ACT TO AMEND THE SRI LANKA PORTS AUTHORITY ACT, No. 51 OF 1979

|
BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows : “
|

Short title.
|
1. This Act may be cited as the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (Amendment) Act, No. 2 of 1992.
|
|
Amendment of section 39 (1) of Act No. 51 of 1979.
|
2. Section 39 (1) of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority Act, No. 51 of 1979, (as amended by Act No. 7 of 1984 and Act No. 35 of 1984), is hereby further amended as follows :”
|
(a) by the substitution, for the words ” sell by public auction “, of the words ” sell or dispose of by public auction or by calling for tenders ” ;
|
|
(b) in paragraph (b) thereof, by the substitution, for the words of the date of the sale or disposal and his concurrence has been obtained for such sale or disposal”. of the words ” of the date of the sale or disposal by public auction or the notice calling for tenders and his concurrence has been obtained for such sale or disposal by public auction or notice calling for tenders” ; and

(c) in paragraph (d) thereof, by the substitution, for the words ” if no bid is made at such sale,”, of the words ‘”if no bid is made at such sale or disposal by such public auction or no tender is received in response to the notice calling for tenders,”.

Sinhala text to prevail in case of inconsistency .
|
3. In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala and Tamil texts of this Act, the Sinhala text shall prevail.
