AN ACT TO AMEND THE THOROUGHFARES ORDINANCE.

BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows :
|

Short title.
|
1. This Act may be cited as the Thoroughfares (Amendment) Act, No. 8l of 1988.
|
|
Insertion of new section 5 A in Chapter 193.
|
2. The following new section is hereby inserted immediately after section 5, and shall have effect as section 5A of the Thoroughfares Ordinance:
|
‘Declaration of national highways.
|
5A. The Minister may from time to time, by Order published in the Gazette, declare any road or class of roads to be a national highway or national highways as the case may be.”.
